Literature Text

You placed a basket of ripe, red tomatoes on the counter of the kitchen of you and Spain's home. It was the middle of harvest season, meaning that you and Spain were working hard to gather all of the tomatoes before they began to rot. It was a lot of hard work, but it was well worth it.

Spain stood at the sink, humming softly while washing off some of the tomatoes, the ever present smile still on his lips. You looked towards the table, where a feast set for kings was set: churros and paella. You let out a loud cry of happiness, causing Spain to laugh joyfully.

"Someone's hungry, aren't we, chica?"

"I've been harvesting the tomatoes all day! Yeah, I'm hungry!"

"Well then, seguir adelante y comer!!"1

You smiled widely at your father and began eating the rice. It was excellent, as always. At least it wasn't English cooking. The time that America and England came to visit and England insisted on cooking one night… You shivered. Even the memories of that horrendous food were enough to make you shudder.

Spain soon sat down with you, piling the food onto his plate. You both ate your dinners, chatting happily. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Spain looked confused, which was an amusing look, since he was still smiling.

"I'll be right back, (f/n)."

"Okay, papá."

Spain got up out of his seat and opened the door, revealing none other than Prussia and France, completing the Bad Touch Trio.

"Gilbert! Francis! What are you doing here?"

"Ohonhonhon, we want to go out drinking with you!"

Spain let his smile drop for a second. "I have a child to take care of, Francis!"

"Keseseseses! We can drop her off at West's house for the night! He must be used to dealing with children with Italy around."

Spain sighed. "Guys, I can't just leave her! And besides, I don't really want to go out drinking tonight."

France looked shocked, while Prussia had a look of 'Are You Serious' on his face. Spain just waved at them, and with an 'Adios!'  , he shut the door in their faces.

Walking back over to you, Spain smiled and said, "Sorry about that, mi tomate!"

"It's okay, papá."

Spain glanced at the clock on the wall. "It's getting late." He lifted you up, placing you on is hip. "Time for bed!"

You wanted to object, but a sudden wave of sleepiness made you yawn and nod. Spain chuckled softly.

He carried you up to your room and opened the door. He placed you on the ground so you could get changed into your pajamas. You trudged over to the large wooden dresser that housed your clothes and pulled out a pair of pajama pants and a top. You raced to the bathroom, got changed quickly, and ran back as quickly as possible.

Spain looked up as you bolted into you room and jumped under the covers of your bed. He sat on a chair that he pulled over to the side of your bed.

"So, chica, what do you want me to sing tonight?"

You pursed your lips adorably. "A Atocha va una niña??"2

Spain smiled. He knew that this was your favorite.

"A Atocha va una niña, carabí.

You were fast asleep before he finished the song. Spain smiled softly.

"Buenas noches, mi tomate. Te amo."4

"Kesesesesese!"

"Ohonhonhonhon!"

"It looks like Toni is going soft on us, Francis! Kesesese!"

Spain sighed and turned towards the door, where Prussia and France were looking through the crack between the door and the doorframe.

"Guys… Mi amigos… Get the fuck out of my house."
Here's the Spain version of 'Lullabies for :iconrainbow-babee:!
