Prussia sighed as you let out a squeak when he flicked off the light.

"What's wrong, sweetie?"

"Don't turn off the light! The monsters will get me!"

He stifled a laugh. "Where are the monsters?"

"They hide in the dark! When the light goes off, they come out!"

"Don't worry. The monsters won't get you."

You looked at him strangely. "Why not?"

"Because we're going to monster-proof your room."

A few minutes later, Prussia was armed with a teddy bear, 'Monster- B-Gone' (some of Germany's air freshener and some glitter that he had mixed together put into a clear plastic spray bottle), 'Fairy Dust' (some sparkles and baby powder that he had put in a pouch), a night light, and a CD player with a CD that played classical music.

"What are those?"

"I've got Fairy Dust, a magic light, music that keeps the monsters away, a teddy bear knight, and some Monster-B-Gone."

"Really?"

"Yes. Now let's get to setting this all up, hmmm?"

"Okay!"

"First: the magic light."

"How will that keep the monsters away?" you asked in a hushed voice.

"Monsters hate the light," he responded in that same whispered tone.

"Yeah!"

Prussia walked over to the wall next to your bed and plugged the night light in and turned it on. It emitted a soft blue light that lit up the room.

"Next, we have the music."

"How does that help?"

"Monsters are afraid of anything soft, even music. This CD plays soft, pretty music that the monsters are scared of."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Now, here's some Fairy Dust."

"Oh! I know why this one will help the monsters go away!"

"What is it?"

"The fairies are nice things, and the monsters are bad, right?"

He smiled. "I knew that you were smart."

You grinned proudly. "What's that?" you asked, pointing at the plastic bottle.

"This is Monster-B-Gone. It gets rid of the monsters."

"Wow!"

"Now, here's the best thing: a teddy bear knight."

You gasped. "What does he do?"

"He doesn't like the monsters. So even if all of the other things don't work, he'll chase all the monsters away. He's really brave."

"That's awesome!"

"Huh, okay."

You went to work spreading the Fairy Dust everywhere the monsters could be hiding, spraying the Monster-B-Gone in the closet and under your bed, and plugging the CD player in and starting the music. After that, Prussia tucked you in and placed the teddy bear next to you.

"What are you going to name him?"

"Uh… oh! I know! His name is 'Gilibear'!"

Prussia laughed loudly. "That's awesome!"

Prussia stood up and kissed your forehead. "Gute Nacht, Schatz."

"Gute Nacht, Papa."
Okay, I wanted to take a break from my 'Lullabies' series, so I came up with this while listening to the 'Cry Reads' playlist by ChaoticMonki on Youtube. His voice... GAH. It's amazing. He reads mostly horror stories, except for a few. So I thought, 'What if Prussia had a kid, and he/she was afraid of monsters?' And this was born.

Hetalia is not mine.
Neither is Prussia.
I don't own you.
But I DO own the story.
