Brother!Hong Kong x Child!Reader - English Lullaby

"Kaoru! Put (f/n) to sleep, aru!"



"Noooooooooo! Don't leave me alone," you beg.



"It's late." China says.



Hong Kong, your older brother, stepped into the room. He walks over to you and wordlessly offers his hand.



"Kaoru, don't make me go," you whine, terrified.



China sighed. "You need to get over your fear of the dark, aru. You're four years old."



"I was afraid of the dark," Kaoru says.



China blinked. "That's different."



Hong Kong shakes his head, causing his long, choppy locks to fly around. You hesitantly place your hand in his, and he turns toward the door. You both walk up the two flights of stairs to your room. You pull out a pair of pajamas from the bottom of your dresser and run to the bathroom to get changed.


When you ran back to your room, Kaoru was sat on the edge of your bed, seemingly in deep thought.



"Kaoru?" you ask.



His head snaps up. "Yes?"



"You're still here."



He stares at you.



"Why are you still here?"



"You said that you were afraid of the dark."



That made you pause. Was he staying in here with you so that you wouldn't be afraid of the dark? That's so sweet of him!



You hop up onto your bed and tuck yourself in. He sat on the chair next to your desk, which was near your bed. He flicked off the lamp on the desk. Immediately, darkness enveloped the room. It was already scaring you. Anything could be in here now, you think.



Hong Kong seemed to notice how nervous you were. He sighed and stood up, walking over to you and kneeling down next to your bed.



"Everything's okay," he whispered.



You stared at him, tears brimming in your eyes.



He lightly grasped your hand and started to sing softly.



"Sleep, my love, and peace attend thee,
All through the night,
Guardian angels God will send thee,
All through the night.
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and vale in slumber sleeping,

He looked you dead in the eyes and said, "I'll stay all night with you if I have to."



You smiled. "Thank you, big brother. 我愛你."¹



His gaze softened. "我愛你, sister."²
